On the occasion of the Day of the Employee of the National Security Bodies of the Republic of Armenia, a solemn session was held in the National Security Service of RA, in which Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan participated.
The Director of the NSS of the Republic of Armenia Andranik Simonyan delivered a welcoming speech, who congratulated the employees of the National Security Bodies on the occasion of their professional holiday and presented the most significant results of the joint work of the national security officers carried out in the main areas during the previous year. The Director of the NSS noted that in the Service the year 2025 was full of various security threats and therefore was an intense year for the National Security Bodies.
The Director of the RA NSS touched upon the protection of the state border and noted that during the previous year 4 border guard outposts have been commissioned in the section under the protection of the Border Guard Troops in the Syunik province. As of January 1, 2025, border control at the “Agarak” state border checkpoints is fully carried out by the Border Guard Troops. As of February 28, border service at the “Margara” state border checkpoints of the Republic of Armenia is likewise performed by the Border Guard Troops.
Andranik Simonyan noted in his speech that, with the aim of ensuring technological advancement, developing human resources, implementing organizational and structural reforms, establishing competitive social guarantees and an effective motivation system for personnel, a draft Five-Year Strategy and Action Plan for the Service’s Reform was circulated in 2025 in the RA National Security Service, the implementation of which will ensure the sustainable development of the Service and enhance its capacity to effectively respond to modern challenges.
Summarizing the work carried out in 2025 by the main subdivisions of the National Security Bodies, the Director of the RA NSS stated that the National Security Service’s special role and mission within the system of public administration simultaneously obliges it to recognize and acknowledge all possible shortcomings and deficiencies in its work, as well as to take consistent steps toward their elimination.
On behalf of the RA National Security Service, Andranik Simonyan, expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister of RA and the Government for the trust shown toward the Service and for consistently keeping existing issues in focus and pursuing their resolution.
On the occasion of the professional holiday, Prime Minister of RA Nikol Pashinyan congratulated the employees of the National Security Bodies noting: “I must state that the National Security Service is one of the most important cornerstones of our state and, in fact, one of the pillars that is of key importance in terms of the security of the Republic of Armenia and the preservation of the constitutional order”.
According to the Prime Minister, the Government today adopted the agenda for the sustainability of the state and placed the state, the Republic of Armenia, at the center and axis of all goals and actions. “And it is very important that the state, regardless of the nature and essence of the political authority, has a solid foundation and backing. This is extremely important for ensuring the sustainability and development of our state,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
On the occasion of the Day of the National Security Bodies Employee, Nikol Pashinyan awarded the RA NSS employees with commemorative medals and diplomas.
