Director of NSS of RA

Colonel Artur Gagik Vanetsyan was born December 8, 1979 in Yerevan.
In 1995 he finished the Yerevan Secondary School № 2.
From 1997 to 1999 he served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
In 1999 he graduated from the Armenian Agricultural Academy, and in 2003 - the Saint Petersburg Institute of Foreign Economic Relations, Economics and Law.
In December 2000, he started his service in the national security agencies of the Republic of Armenia as operative officer. Prior to assuming the position of Director of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, Colonel Vanetsyan was Deputy Head of the City Department of Yerevan.
In 2002, he attended training courses in the Academy of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.
In 2015, by the decree of President of the Republic of Armenia, Colonel A. Vanetsyan was awarded Medal for Battle Merit. More than once he was rewarded by the leadership of the NSS of RA and MoD of RA.
On May 10, 2018, by the decree of President of the Republic of Armenia, Colonel Artur Gagik Vanetsyan was appointed Director of the National Security Service of RA.
Colonel Vanetsyan is married and has two sons.
